as someone who genuinely things the Fisker Karma is a cool car I think I’ll add this to the convo;
The Fisker Karma and Karma Revero are beautiful niche cars.

Too bad that it’s just a fancy Chevrolet Volt. It’s powered by a GM EcoTec engine and is based on the GM Voltec platform.

The concept of range extended electric cars is so cool but realistically it’s all of the drawbacks of an electric car without any of the benefits of a PHEV.

similarly to the DS5 diesel hybrid, or the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 300hp - it’s yet another hybrid car that attempts to solve a problem that doesn’t exist. Just insanely over engineered and overpriced cars with their only real true “feature” being excellent exterior design.

Just to emphasize how the the Fisker makes no sense as a car:
It has an EV range of 30 miles and then it goes into hybrid mode (claimed) 50 MPG.
BUT, a $30k Kia Niro plug-in does does the same 30 miles on electric power but it gets even more then 50mpg driving in hybrid mode.
- basically they both deliver the same performance.
Oh and not to forget that both the light and cheap Niro and the very expensive and heavy Fisker make about the same horsepower.
Basically, people who are interested in a car like that should just get a Prius 🥴, it’s less efficient but at least it won’t fall apart.

Neat looking cars, but for awhile (maybe still) owners were left out in the cold when they needed parts.  Its one of the downsides of small production vehicles, if something happens with the company you may not have access to parts or support.

I love the look of the car. If I could get one super cheap, I’d roll in it. But I wouldn’t pay a premium for it. Justin Bieber had one, if that matters at all. On top of that, the technology isn’t very robust, IMHO. If you are paying that much for a car, might as well go all electric.

FWIW, Fisker has a new SUV coming out, called the Ocean. I don’t really like the look of it.

I honestly love the look of The Fisker Karma and Karma Revero, They remind me of the Chrysler Chronos concept car (Also a work of art!). But they aren't the most reliable cars, and while they tried to have all the fancy tech it falls short of most newer cars (which may actually be a good thing). If money was no object, I'd buy both and convert one to a big V8 powered sedan and one I'd keep stock. I really wish they would've made V8, V6, and hybrid versions of all of them, because while the base model isn't slow (0-60 in 5.4 seconds), it's incredibly expensive and not worth the price.

Cool looking cars, but such an unsteady company.
