Scotty has mentioned in his videos that he prefers Android phones for use with automotive diagnostic tools. (As far as I know he has not specified a particular make or model.)

Maybe not so crazy if selecting a phone to use in conjunction with automotive testing gear.
I dunno ... if an app works on one Android , they'll work on another. It's not like 80's where you had 12 different systems competing.
The thing that will matter more, I think, is screen size. Bigger graphics, and bigger buttons to push.
Maybe something rubust because it could get knocked around.
I remember when he was using Bosch scan tool based on Samsung Galaxy Tab and it restarted in middle of work. But I don't remember what video is it.

At least with the old cell phones, you could use it knock loose a rusted rotor.
Some time it was Samsung. He went on Google Pixel then.
