Ceramic Coating

I was at a store last night and was looking at Meguiar's Ceramic Coating. It says you spray it on and rinse it off. What is it? And is it any good? Is it a wax? Thank you!

DIY ceramics are next to useless. Real ceramics are pretty slick, no pun intended, but are $$$ and have their own hassle factor.

Just do regular wax (or Scotty’s favorite, “Nu Finish”).

Thank you!

My 17 year old Lexus IS220D came with 'Supagard' ceramic coating that the previous owner had done at the Lexus dealership.

I flicked up a reflective eye on the motorway/freeway at 70mph from the front wheel and it flew back onto the rear wheel arch and dented it, but it didn't scratch or damage the paint.

Don't know really if it was the coating or the Lexus paint. But I was impressed either way.
