Hey everyone! i got a Miata with a flat tire in the rear of the car, ran over a nail, and I’ve heard Scotty say you really don’t wanna drive too long on a patched tire as you likely to not hold up in the long run. Can I get away with changing the one tire or should I change both tires in the rear? They both have a medium amount of thread on them if that helps.
On 2wd cars it is best to replace tires in axle pairs. If your tire was repaired properly though it should hold up OK.
It's a RWD car, too big thread difference can damage the differential. Check threads of front tyres. If same, put them on the rear and change only one tyre and put both on the front

are you sure he said that? Patches are very good and last as long as the tire. Plugs on the other hand are temporary
