I got this truck from my father when he passed. He was the original owner and he took care of his truck.
the blower motor seized and I was quoted $600 to get that fixed.
the ac lost all the refrigerant somehow and to recharge is $275. But if it leaks out again then obviously I have a bigger problem.
i feel a kick from the back of the truck when I start it up from sitting overnight and pull off for the first time out the garage. I’m guessing it’s the transmission so I’m hoping it’s not or maybe just normal at this mileage. But I feel it sometimes when stopping as well, I leave the truck in auto 4x4.
The ball joint on the driver side has play and needs repair as well and I was quoted $600 for that
and to add insult to injury the amber light on the passenger side front is out and Firestone wants $202 to put in a $3 bulb.
all in all I’m asking if it’s time to sell or just put the money into the truck? Thanks
Autozone will put in an amber bulb after you purchase the bulb from them and will do it for free.
All automotive air conditioners gradually leak refrigerant in order to keep their seals lubricated. It's 10 years old, now. It's probably time for a recharge.
Your driveshaft may have lost a weight. My Ranger would shake just a little bit when I'd first start out, and it wouldn't always do it.
If you're handy, you can change ball joints yourself with standard hand tools. Take it to a an alignment shop after you do the work, because you will throw off you alignment when you do the work.
