I own a 2008 jeep liberty with 200,000 miles on it it’s extremely sluggish and won’t go very fast on the highway. If I push it it will but I can feel vibration and it’s struggling and watch your video on catalytic converters.! I think this could possibly be the problem. I’ve cleaned out the fuel injectors. I have replace the gas cap and all the eBay app system parts. I am throwing ano code now….. I followed your advice and got a big can of lacquer thinner. I read that you’re supposed to drive it at high speeds for 150 miles. Is that correct? I have one weird question on some of the pages I read it says that it may damage other parts in certain vehicles, so could you tell me if it’s probably safe or how safe is it to use in my 2008 jeep liberty and if you have any advice how I can check the catalytic converter beforehand or what I should do or how I should proceed. I trust you and thank you very much for your advice. Have a good day.
If the catalyst is so plugged up that it's affecting engine performance no additive is going to fix it. The best case scenario would be if the converter is just on the edge of inefficiency, then maybe something like that might help. Also, lacquer thinner can be very hard on your fuel system.
Test for excessive exhaust back pressure and perform a full diagnostic scan for codes and live data.
