My girlfriend has a 2017 EcoBoost Ford Mustang with the dual clutch transmission. She's going to be going over 70k miles here soon. I said she should get the transmission fluid changed, and the dealer told her their recommended interval in that transmission is every 150k miles. That seems like a ridiculously long interval, like they're basically selling that "lifetime" fluid garbage. Would you have it changed anyways at her mileage?
Thanks!
I would change it at least every 50K miles.
Changing the fluid and filter is the best insurance policy.
They aren't going to guarantee the transmission for 150,000 miles.
You knew what people were going to say on this forum when you asked😊
heck yeah! 150,000 miles is a stupid time to change your transmission fluid, unless you already changed it at 50 and then 100 K
I told her at 60k to get it done and she trusted the 150k interval. I said I'll ask Scotty's forum what they, and possibly he thinks. Haha. I knew to change it. While I was tearing apart my 1979 Pontiac today, she asked me to inspect and change her car's fluids because of the 70k miles.
