Hi Scotty, this is my first time writting to you. I watch your youtube channel on regular basis. I am 50+ and have owned Kia 1996, Nissan 1988, Golf 2000, Lexus es300 1997, Mercedes E 320, Honda 2015 V6 and Honda CRV 2014. I used to have all those in my life time till now I decided to move to Mercedes and bought GLA 2021 2.0 turbo and GLE 350 2018 V6. I know you are toyota fan which i respect also you can see I owned Lexus and enjoyed it. But it is human nature that we like to change and that keep us going and different car bring color to our lives and experience. I am very tech savvy. When E320 Mercedes was at 170 K I droped the transmission and changed atf pump and rare seal and all cars i maintained myself. So with recent purchase of GLE and GLA I stepped into German cars again both cars have extended warranty. I know reliability of V6 GLE but it will be great if you could talk on Mercedes 2.0 turbo engines. Looks like they are using this for all their car model even, in GLE. It make sence for GLA and C class but 2.0 for E and GLE does not make sense as it is too small for those big vehicle. So please share your thoughts on 2.0 turbo engines reliability by Mercedes. I beleive those 2.0 are not new they started using it 10 years back but now almost in every line up.Appreciate your response.

Regards,

Syed

Scotty is not a fan of small displacement motors with turbos. It generates a lot of stress on the motor and causes the lifespan to be significantly shorter.

And replacing a motor on a Mercedes is not a cheap prospect.
