Changing Oil if not Run

Scotty, since Covid started some of my cars are rarely run. I have one that the oil was changed a year ago but has been in the garage all year and driven no more than 50 miles all year. The Mobil 1 oil still looks new on the dipstick. Do I still need to change it? seems like a waste of time and money.

@johnsprint
mobil 1 is NO LONGER GOOD OIL. they used to be good like 30 plus years ago. use another brand like penzzoil 🙂 you will see the difference right away. also if you let a car sit that long you will have electric problems. get rid of that 12v battery and start from there. battery goes bad when not used, in order for 12 battery to work 100% you need to use it 100%. but yeah remove that cheap oil from your engine and only use the correct type oem

personally i smelled mobil 1 and it smells nasty ok, i think chlorox smells better 😉

but its always reccomend to only use original and the correct type of fluid.

Scotty recommends changing the oil once a year in situations like this. Moisture finds its way into the oil over time.

The battery is trickle charged.
