Hi there, I understand changing the transmission fluid could be bad.
2005 Toyota Corolla MANUAL transmission with 180,000 miles.
I dont know history of transmission fluid changes. Am I safe to drain and fill fluid? Or am I risking it?
I feel it runs fine, I just wanna do the maintenance since I just got the car. Thanks

Nope. Totally wrong. Who told you that?
Am I safe to drain and fill fluid
Of course. What could be unsafe about it?
As @mmj stated, what would be unsafe about it. I think you are confusing automatic transmissions with manual transmissions. Two, different animals. With an automatic transmission, changing the fluid can sometimes cause serious problems, but with a manual transmission, changing the oil can only make it better. Check your owner's manual for the correct weight gear oil required for your transmission.
