My check engine light came on so I took it in to see what was up. The mechanic tells me I have a dead cylinder. It's a 2013 F150 5.0 4X4. Further questions, he feels that it is somewhere in the lower rocker arm in #6 Cyl. Fix I am told is a new engine or a new truck. The truck has 157,000 miles on it. Am I being screwed?

Well find a mechanical actually works on engines and see if he could replace rocker arms rather than just give up and so you need a new engine.
