  • Hi scotty. I have a 2003 honda civic exi manual transmission with 82k km. My check engine light is bothering me. It comes on randomly (doesnt flashes) and goes off when i turn off the car after 15-20 mins of driving. I can't find any performances issues, the car runs perfectly fine. I used a scan tool and it showed me code P1214. What could cause this code to come on and is it safe to drive the car? Should i ignore it and wait for something serious to happen? I need help.

If it run s  okay you could ignore it often it is a problem in the map sensor circuit a bad math sensor or bad wiring or bad connectors but if it runs okay you could ignore it

Should i clean the map sensor and connectors with wd40 contact cleaner? And pray the light doesnt come on again and its not some expensive repair related to fuel pressure like clogged fuel injectors or fuel filter or a bad fuel pump 🙁
