I have a 2010 Chevy Avalanche with a 5.3 with 263,000 miles. It runs very well, but the check engine light is steadily illuminated and showing no codes. What should I check for? Thanks

There are a few possibilities. It could be a problem with your ECU or wiring. Or, another scan tool may be able to read codes if yours is having difficulty. If there are manufacturer-specific codes a generic, inexpensive code reader would not be able to access those.
