Hey Scotty and friends what are your thoughts? last month a friend of mines son traded in his fully paid 2007 Ford Explorer for a $2,500 credit towards a 2012 Chevy malibu with only 50,000 miles He still owed $11,400. After my friend found out he complained to the manager and refused to reverse the deal but agreed to lower it to $8550. Was he still over charged? What should have really been done? I know Malibu’s are also not good cars because I had a 2000 Malibu with 60,000 miles when the head gasket went and engine leaked antifreeze.
The son doesn't know what he's doing, because he was taken to cleaner. He didn't do any research. Somebody should have gone with him.
Almost 9k for a 2012 Malibu? Way way too much. Unfortunately, your friend can not do anything about it but Safire review online so other people won’t be screwed.
Someone got ripped off. Sorry to hear about it, but yes, he was still vastly overcharged.
I bought my 2013 Malibu with 36k in November 2014 for $14k, I needed a emergency replacement since I worked about 80 hours a week and totaled my other car by hitting a deer. I haven’t had any problems yet but I would say yes, he over paid.
They are commonly referred to as stealerships for a reason.
