scotty. i have a 2018 chevy equinox 1.5 t. with 52000 km on it. it needs a brake job all the way around. it has an electric parking brake on rear rotors that needs to be retracted.is there any safe way to do this without using a scanner? does anybody sale an electric kit that i can plug into rear socket to retract piston? thanks
what if you shift the vehicle into drive to release the brake, then pull out the EPB fuse, and shut down the vehicle?
I’m unsure, this sounds like it can cause electronic issues… I’d guess the EPB module theoretically could re-initialize by it self - but it also could throw codes and require an Dealer-level scan tool to reset and initialize it correctly…
That would be pretty awful design if a blown fuse caused such a problem
