Hey Scotty funny story, I was at a Corvette car show today at a Chevy dealership. I was one of the first guys to show up and the owner of the dealership was talking to me about how much better Chevy quality has gotten over the years. Then after 10 minutes of him lecturing me about the great quality of GM one of his guys walked over and said “hey the Silverado tailgate speaker isn’t working, how are we going to play music?” I nearly died laughing. Brand new truck and the stupid tailgate speaker isn’t working hahaha. What a stupid design anyways. I’d end up kicking it and breaking it by accident
If only the problems of GM vehicles were limited to things like speakers not working it wouldn't be so bad. Unfortunately that's not even the tip of the poor quality iceberg.
suuuuuure it is

GM shouldn’t even be a company anymore. They are lucky that the Government doesn’t mind throwing money at problems.
Yeah, Chevy actually thinks it's going to entice buyers by running adds for its "Multiplex Tailgate." Who cares how many positions it folds into when the engine and trans falls apart?
They probably will because people LOVE new gimmicks. I see it all the time.
You're right, Joe.
Yeah but they got a tailgate that folds down so I can use my laptop on it! I don't know how many times I have needed to work on my laptop from the comfort of standing at the back of my truck.
Never. I don't have a laptop, tablet or smart phone. Even if I did, the tailgate is the last place I would use them.
Yep, people are too busy looking at gimmicks instead of what they actually need.
-
I personally love gimmicks when it’s a corporate fleet veichle or a lease but on my cars I avoid any complex electronics like wildfire.
-
When I buy a car I always try to get the one with the least amount of complex electronics and later I just add an aftermarket external DashCam, TPMS monitor, FCW, LDW, and a head unit with CarPlay.
-
I know that when I do it, it has been done right and won’t require constant trips to the dealer when those fancy integrated and overly complex systems begin to fail…
-
For example, unlike most high trim cars, If my TPMS system begins to misbehave I don’t need a dealer level scan tool, I can just simply toss the old system and sensors into the bin and get new ones for less then what it’d cost the dealer to even look in my direction.
Its always best to get a simple and well built products, without gimmicks - those are just additional things that will cause issues or break…
@doc I do a poor job of online sarcasm. 😆
I laughed at the tailgate laptop holder when I saw the commercial, I thought it was a joke. It is not.
the laptop thing is quite funny. Sarcasm doesn't carry well over the internet. Right @doc?
You guys are killing me!

Where can I get a cat that herds cattle?
