Hi, my sister is looking at a Chevy sonic 2014, 120k miles 2500, the seller says it "NEEDS FUEL PUMP!
Will start with starting fluid". Is it worth buying and fixing and about how much will it cost?
Looks comestically okay and clean.
Thank you for your responses.

If all it needs is a fuel pump, why doesn't the seller replace it and then get more money for a running vehicle?
Those are light-duty, disposable vehicles. At 8 years old and 120K miles it is at the end of its expected service life. The fuel pump is very likely just the beginning of an endless litany of problems.

Would anybody in their right mind spend $2500 on an 8 year old, bottom of the line econobox that doesn't even run? I would not.
