Choosing between Toyota’s

Hi Scotty,

things are tight, and I have to choose between a rebuilt salvaged Camry or Corolla, years range from 2011-2016. If you had to pick between those two what would it be? I’m nervous choosing a Camry in the same price range as the corollas I can afford. Under 10 grand

Yeah I don't think you're going to get a great answer.  You can compare a new Camry with a new Corolla in general terms and talk about pros and cons.  But for specific individual salvage units, there are too many unknown issues.

Call Lemon Squad or other local mechanic for a prepurchase inspection on both.  See which has fewer problems and buy that.

I would not buy either with a salvage/rebuilt title unless maybe I knew for certain it was totalled only for cosmetic damage such as hail dents. Even then you need to see if you can get a salvaged car insured and what restrictions your state may place on it.

Thanks but I’m still going to get one of the two options. That’s how things work in Miami. It is what it is

Well, good luck with that.

If those are your only two choices, I’d get the one in better condition. Look for signs of where body work has been done. And see which one is less damaged. Obviously, a regular titled car would be best if one is available at your price point.
