Hi Scotty,

In one of your videos you said you put motorcycle shocks on your toyota matrix.  Would you mind sharing which shocks, etc.. that you put on your vehicle?  I have a 2011 Toyota Matrix and I put a front sway bar and it helped a bunch but I need mooore.  Debating aftermarket suspension and I’m curious what route you went, thanks.

Should I get the stock 2011 Toyota Matrix 1.8L Base FWD struts with coils for the front?  (E.g., part number SR4409 and SR4408) and 340018 x 2 for the rear?  I thought you got something special from a motorcycle?

Get KYB or Bilstein for the best.

Well, I don’t see any Bilstein available for 2011 Toyota Matrix Base 1.8L model. Suppose I’ll plan to purchase the KYB model. Still not sure what brand these motorcycle struts Scotty was talking about for his Matrix but I think he has a ‘07 or ‘05 so maybe they wouldn’t be compatible anyway.

Does anyone have an air suspension upgrade for Toyota Matrix 2011 base 1.8L FWD?

Looks like Scotty used Monroe struts in this video:

Do you think the KYB are better than monroe?

That video was 7 years ago. Monroe was good at one time. But supposedly their quality dwindled. KYB has always been consistent.

I’d go KYB.
