2013 Honda Civic 1.8 non cvt automatic
148k miles
I was wondering if anyone has used seafoam in these engines. Engines that take 0w oil.
My compression test a while ago seemed to indicate a bit of carbon build up inside the engine. Seems like maybe I have a slight loss in power too.
I read online some people are saying don't clean carbon off of old engines. Because if it's burning oil, and you clean off the carbon. Then the burning of oil will become much worse. Is this true.
And if I should clean it off. Do I just add seafoam inside the engine? And how much and for how long? I am due for a oil change in about 500miles.
Or is putting seafoam in gas tank good enough to clean off the excess carbon?
I don't know a whole lot when it comes to carbon buildup up. Any advice and info would much very appreciated.
Thank you.
Scotty does not recommend using Seafoam in modern vehicles. He does recommend ATS Carbon Clean.
