I have a 1997 Chevy Silverado C3500 7.4L dually with 91000 actual miles. I have 2 questions. I have a clunk when shifting from reverse to drive, but it's intermittent. I think it's U joints. What's your take? Can I add air shocks to the rear suspension, or will it damage the leafs?

Find the source of the clunking noise first before doing anything else.

U-joints are likely, check them for wear.

Air shocks add additional load to the shock absorber mounts which they may not be able to take.
