I recently purchased a 2008 Honda CR-V lx with 101567 miles on it I’m getting 2 codes p0135 and p0141 but I have no check engine light. I also noticed when I get my lamp check the engine light also does not display, is this a coincidence or did the person I bought from conceal the light?
Crooks do unscrew check engine light bulbs from the dashboard. When you start a car, you should see a flashing CEL bulb that goes away.
So, you a) observe the dashboard lights during the start; b) use an OBD reader prior to the deal.
If I’m not mistaken I think on this car there isn’t a bulb, it’s soldered onto the circuit board
I think, it's the same principle. Crooks can unplug a connector, paint the LED, cover the LED with a black paper, short the circuit, etc.
