I have a 2014 Honda Civic Lx with 267,500 miles. In the morning, I have a vehicle that sounds if it will not start, but catches on the first try. The car starts normal when running errands or sitting 2-4 hours for hiking.
I have a new alternator, new battery, new spark plugs, and new ignition coil installed and no change so far. I have had multiple tests done and have tested the system myself. All systems test good. Could this issue now be a fuel pump or another electrical issue? Should I go ahead and get a fuel pump test? Thanks.
It has a lot of miles. Maybe the engine is worn out?
On a car of that year, I would use a good OBD-2 scanner and post the fault codes here...
Are the plugs wet or dry after unsuccessful 'starting' sessions?
The spark plugs were dry. The starts on the first crank, but it hesitates to crank and sounds like it will need a second crank to start.
