The main consideration for a compressor is the amount of CFM it produces. If you are going to want to run impact wrenches, drills and other heavy duty stuff, you need high CFM. For example, people wonder why their paint spray gun doesn't work very well with their 1/2 hp, 125 psi compressor. If they had read the information, they would see that the minimum requirement for that spray gun is 12CFM at 40 psi. Check out the CFM requirements of your tools, get at least a 220V single phase hookup and the most CFM you can afford.
