Scotty, I bought an 02 land cruiser with 294000 miles. I sometimes smell evaporating coolant but don’t see an active leak or steam. Once in a while I have seen discharge on the ground near front of engine after moving the vehicle the next day. I also need to refill the coolant reservoir using about a half gallon every 2-3 weeks. I looked underneath and saw some red coolant stain on bottom weep Hole of timing belt cover. Could it be coming from there? Bad water pump? Truck on 3rd timing belt near next replacement. I love this truck and trying to keep it as long as I can. Thanks for you time.

It very well is a bad water pump and the coolant can be excessively coming out of the weep hole in the pump.
