5.7 v8 coolant cleaner flush drained dark. Drain 2 gal 3 gal still in engine. Drain and add distilled water, warm up and drain, still dark. Done this about 8 times and only cleared up a little. Is this normal?

Why did you decide to flush the coolant? Any overheating issue?

Had moss in rad years ago and had stealership flush& fill. Wasn’t sure how well they did it and decided to try some thermocure in it

no that is not normal. your coolant should come out clean after 3-5 times drain and fill. scotty has a really good coolant flush video, where he only uses water and removes the thermostat and drives the vehicle for a day, next day, it comes out clean. if you have youre coolant really dirty, the only way is to keep cleaning it with water. here is the video. also use 50/50 coolant. i used full concentrated 1 time and my whole engine got corroded in 2 days, i had to get rid of that car unfortunately. and use only original for coolant, oem check with your dealer, dont add tap water, add coolant if you need to pour more.

I’m adding about 2 gal of distilled water each flush. Water looks like I peed in it. It’s slowly getting lighter, but man it’s taking a lot of flushes. Good thing it’s .80 a gallon!
