2004 Buick Century v6.Radiator cooling fans come on when temp. gage goes a little above half. When there is good air flow, weather is cool or at highway speed temperature gage goes to 3/8 plus a lttle and remains there. I'm orginal owner and have maintained car and have been told car is worklng as designed?? Car has 38,000 mi. Only way i can keep it cool in summer is to place a jumper to ground via cooling fan relay, and maual switch. Both fans come on. On slow speed, works good. Problem is when i turn car off and foeget to turn off switch, {black}:laughingoutloud: fans continue to run and kill battery. How can i over come this issue without golng broke. Its an old car otherwise runs good. Gets 32 miles per gallon on highway. Thanks in advance for your help
.
Well first I'd monitor actual temps to see what is going on for sure but sounds like you need to find the issue instead of the work around.
As for wiring it manual, do what you did but tie the switch power lead to "+12 volts when On" connection in fuse box vise "+12 volts always"
what happens when you don't force the fans? It stays a little above half? That doesn't seem out of ordinary.
