- hi Scotty im Gery i have an audi a4 2003 1.8 turbo charger automatic transmision and i have a problem with the heater core that doesent heat in low rpm and when i cheked the engine the tubes of cooling system they were so presured
the antifreze color is red and seems so pure!the waterpump is new
the thermostat is new
I know that you dont like so much this type of car but anyway 😉 can you giving me some help for trying to find the problem?
You could have an airlock. I had a 99 passat 1.8Turbo and if you did not bleed the heater core at the hose connections you would get low air filled flow. Look where the 2 hoses connect to the heater core above the engine. On mine one had a small hole in the side of the end of the hose past the clamp. Loosen the clamp and pull the hose back until you see some coolant possibly come out. Then start the car and wait for continuous stream to come out of the small hole then push back on and clamp. On the bad side, these models are known for clogged heater cores if coolant is not changed/flushed every 2 years max.
Heater core is an unit independent from a thermostat or water pump. If you want to fix it, you will need to tear the dash apart. And that takes time.
Good luck!
