Hey guys, my 1980 corvette break lights are both not working. Bulbs changed. Blinkers and running lights are working. Reverse lights are working. Hazards are not. Headlights work. Could someone please help me out? Thank you!!!

Sounds like an electrical short somewhere inside the assembly. Have you priced swapping it out for an aftermarket OEM equivalent? Chasing it down could prove difficult.

1st place to check is the fuse.

If that's good then check the ground connection for the brake lights.

(under left end of rear cross member)

Power comes from the fuse. Splits off to the brake pedal (stop light) switch and the hazard lights switch.

Both go into separate connections on the harmonica connector at the steering column.

They come out of the connector, Green wire for the right brake light, Yellow wire for the left brake light.

The brake lights share a common chassis ground (under left end of rear cross member)

Try to track down a wiring diagram. A 1980 should be fairly simple and easy to troubleshoot.
