Hi so I took my car for a wheel alignment and they said I need a cotter pin on my tie rod end. Now I'm going to shop for one. Can I buy a variety pack to be sure or do I need a specific kind(length). I have a 2004 Honda Accord lx 2.4 liter 4 cylinder. I have a tie rod end that I have to return should I just get the same size as that tie rod cotter pin?
An assortment is handy to have and is not very expensive. Just pick one from the assortment that's close in size to the original. (It's not a precision-fit part.)
Thank you
I'm surprised the alignment shop didn't just put the 10cent pin in there for you.
I would take the pin out of the one you're returning.
If you don't want to do that, just get the biggest pin the will fit in the hole. It's only job is to prevent the nut from spinning out, so as long as it accomplishes that ...
Thank you
Look on the other side and use that size
Would it ok to use a different size?
go bigger instead of smaller as long as it fits in the hole
