Hi Scotty,
I recently had to tear down my engine to replace the piston rings due to having low compression on cylinder number 2 on my 1994 acura integra with the B18b non-vtec motor. After replacing the rings and bolting it back together, the crankshaft no longer turns manually. I tore it down again to make sure everything was torqued to spec but still isn't turning. What are some possibilities that I have missed or what are some causes? Engine has 345,000 miles and internals still look new.
The B18b is an interference engine. Check your valve timing
I tore down the engine again. The valve timing is good. Took off the head and still didn't crank by hand until I took out piston #1. As soon as I took it out, I was able to crank it by hand again. But as soon as I put it back in, it won't crank by hand anymore. Checked the piston rings and they are gapped properly.
