Got a 2009 Honda Pilot, 164k miles, automatic trans. When I apply and let off the breaks, I get this sort of creaking/clunking sound. What could it be?

You should have your pads checked make sure they are no low. Sometimes they can wear down and not make a sound except when they get down really bad. Could be a bad caliper or some suspension component going bad as well.
