Hi Scotty,
I am looking at purchasing a used Honda CRV from a potential private seller (don't have a prospect yet). I have heard about the AC compressors going bad and throwing out metal into the AC system. How extensive is this problem? I were to buy a used CRV with the intention of replacing the compressor first thing, could I expect to have to replace it again farther down the road?
What can I do to prevent this?

well what actually happens as the shaft breaks off the end of the compressor and the clutch flies off it doesn't internally damage the AC system and you have to replace the compressor yes but it's not that big of a deal
