4 cylinder Renault diesel engine

I'm still searching for an RV. I found a 1987 class B with a 4 cylinder Renault Diesel engine. Everything inside and outside looks ok, especially its age. Does the engine have a decent history, Has 87,000 miles. Before I go with full inspection, I'd like to know the past reliabilty history.

Do have more information on the model name or specific engine? Thank You.

well I have no experience with her nose I do know the French make pretty good diesel engines but something that old and an RV you're probably asking for trouble everything is going to be rotten and smelly and broken but if not pay a guy like me to check it out before you buy because there's so many IFS and that old do not pay much for it

I know the concern. After getting the "honey please get this one, Its big. Be great. " Well, I learned my lesson. Fortunately wasn't a real expensive lesson well, not cheap. I was able to get someone to take it. LOL And absolutely, I would have a good mechanic I know look at it. I know how to look thru an RV for issues.. Typically RV are not made that great. The older ones seem better made. I still wonder how RV's escape the scrutiny that cars get. I'm looking at it this week. And if it seems ok, Ill make an offer. I always allow about 25% to my budget figuring that there will be repairs in ANY used vehicle. Worked well for me
