Hey Scotty, this post has nothing to do with my Racing Civic but a customer car. A Customer brought in his 2021 Mazda CX-30 2.5L S with 36,000 miles. Customer states he been doing his own oil changes since he bought that car. After the recent oil change, he went to another shop and said his car was smoking and open the hood to find out that the oil cap is off and shooting out oil on the engine bay. He claims he tightened the oil cap. That’s not all, he even has an engine code for P0010 which is something to do with the camshaft sensor. And the car is on limp mode. Could this be a customer error on his oil change that he is covering the truth or is this a manufacture defect from Mazda and they have a TSB on it?
Sounds more like a customer mistake to me. Who knows what the guy did if he didn't even put the oil cap on. But if he left the oil cap off and too much oil came out, it could destroy internal parts of the engine. Realize that you can't always believe what people tell you. I've often seen people run cars out of oil and then they claim it never happened
@scottykilmer that’s what my mind is telling me and my service advisor agrees too. He probably hiding the truth.
