2014 Toyota Camry Oil Consumption

Topic starter

My daughter's 2014 Toyota Camry (4 cyl) is using oil, a couple of quarts every 1000-1200 miles or so. It has about 100,000 miles on it.  We do regular oil changes and have been using a synthetic blend. Is there anything we can do to reduce the oil consumption? Would you recommend an oil additive?

I forgot to ask do you recommend using the recommended 0-20 weight oil or something heavier?

Scotty doesn't usually return to topics he has already answered. Use the oil specified by the manufacturer.

Well latitudes won't stop oil consumption. Replace the PCV valve and pray it's just that. Because if it isn't, that would mean the piston rings are probably worn from not changing the oil often enough
