We have a 2007 Ford focus SE with 2.0 l engine and automatic transmission. I was wondering if an axle that has a dry CV joint will always make a noise when you're turning or if it just does it in some cases only when you go over a bump or accelerate. We're hearing a popping noise that is very random and seems a bit more likely when we go over a speed bump but we never hear it when we turn the wheel even if we're making a very sharp turn at a high speed. Could that still be a dry CV joint?

that sounds more like suspension than a cv joint, but there's no point guessing . Someone needs to get down there and start pulling on stuff.
