My 2014 Civic battery died and I couldn't unlock the door using mechanical key. Any idea why? Had to pop door to open hood and jump car. Thank you, love the videos!
There is no place to stick your key into the door? It should have unlocked manually, unless maybe there was something wrong with the mechanical lock. There should be a way to get in the car if the battery dies...auto engineers are not that stupid.
The key cylinder seizes up from lack of use. Just like an undriven car.
Spray some lightweight lube in inside with the little red tube nozzle, and work the lock with your key until you free it up.
had key, wouldnt unlock door. Once I popped the door and jumped the car, remote worked to unlock. Dont understand why mechanical key wouldnt unlock with dead battery
