My mum´s got 2 cars
her daily : 2005 Mazda 2, 1.25 l MZI, 55 kw, bought in 2018, 265000 km, no problems, runs good
her business car for long trips: 2020 Volkswagen Touran Highline, 2.0 TDI, 110 kw, 25000 km, 7-speed DSG.
The Volkswagen died on the highway. While she was driving to Austria going about 130 km/h, the car suddenly started jerking all of the lights illuminated on the dash and the car died right there in the middle of the highway. It has been over 2 weeks now and the dealer still does not know what is wrong with it. It doesn´t even start. Just flat out died. Please help.
Christian.
2 years old VW is still under warranty. Let them fix the problem. Check out if they have to give you a new one or return money if they don't fix it in certain period of time.
Check the battery and alternator. Also, go to a different mechanic because the dealer obviously doesn't know what their doing.
If he goes to an unauthorised mechanic, it can perhaps affect the warranty.
Going to an independent mechanic doesn't necessarily mean affecting the warranty if all they are asked to do is scan for trouble codes and road test (if possible). A different dealer should suffice to maintain the warranty.
