Dear scotty, I know you say 90% of wear is from starting the car, but in traffic since the car has been running then car auto shutoff shouldn’t be so damaging since there will be oil all around in the engine and wouldn’t that prevent that start-up wear?

It all depends on how long the car is sitting. Yeah, if it just goes off and comes back on within a few seconds that's okay. But let's say you're in a stoplight and stop like last for 2 minutes. Then the engine is going to be pretty dry on the top with the oil would have drained down
