About a few months ago, I talked about my experience with the Ford 10R80 transmission in the 2021 Ford Expedition after a test drive. It wasn't the best experience.

I now got my hands on a 2021 Ford F-150 3.7 Ecoboost with the same transmission. 21k miles with zero issues. I looked around and everything looked smooth. Did Ford fix the issue for good? I believe Ford did make a software update for the new ones despite the chip shortage.
I wouldn't hold my breath. Software updates are usually bandaids.
Ford - Quality is Job None.
21,000 miles is nothing. I would like to see it when it hits 100,000, 150,000, 200,000+ miles. Ford only has to make it last through the warranty period, however.
