2010 Toyota Yaris 108k. I changed the oil and oil filter myself and I think I may have put too much oil though because it seemed to leak some oil the same night I changed it and let run for about 5-10 minutes. It was a bit hard for me to judge because the dip stick was trailing above the top line versus being solid if that makes sense? Did I damage the engine and seals? Car was only driven about 100 miles at most before oil leaked and I took some oil out later. Dip stick now is solid halfway in between top and bottom mark and oil trails slightly above the top mark.
I think you are fine. At least you corrected it soon after.
I wasn't sure if 100 miles was already too much driving 😅 thanks for the feedback! Thankfully no smoke and no leaks as of this morning after taking some oil out last night. But is it normal for cars that are overfilled with oil to leak?
