Hi Scotty I just bought a 1984 Dodge Ram D150 with a 318 LA V8. The truck has light rust but is solid for a Wisconsin truck. It needs some work. Is this motor/ truck any good? I bought it to be a daily driver/ work truck.

Well, Chrysler products were built a lot better back then. However what's happened to it in the last 40 years, and your ability to deal with the issues a vehicle that old is likely to have, will determine whether you made a good decision. (You didn't state how much you paid. Hopefully not too much.)
