Hey ,

So i bought a 123.000km 2005 Mazda 2 DY Fujia 1.25i , Manual gasoline private owner . It was 2000€ i took it for a test drive it was fine no noise or anything weird and the few days after it was still fine .

but now it is at the car doctors after not starting up after a 20minute drive and a gasstation stop .

no idea whats wrong with it since jumpstarting didn’t work on it . gotta wait til tuesday to know more .

is it worth putting money in it if i have to ? 😭

it is my first car aswell so i have no idea haha

It depends on what’s broken.

Did a good mechanic inspect it first, before you bought it?

@inthrustwetrust
i guess so it got the Austrian car seal thingy what means the car is safe for at least another year ( you have to get the car checked every year)
but i couldn’t bring it to a mechanic before i bought it . i just trusted my guts since everything looked and sounded good to me .

I’m not sure how things work in Austria, but if it means you have a 1 yr warranty, take it back to the seller if something major is broken.

Could be something relatively minor like a crank position sensor if the engine is not firing, or a starter if it's just not cranking. But it could be something serious. I don't know how thorough the inspection is in Austria but if like most U.S. inspections they would be checking that things like lights, chassis integrity, suspension, brakes, and emissions are OK. There are a lot of things that can be wrong that would not show up in that kind of inspection. Let us know what the shop tells you the problem is.

How long do you have that car? Do in Austria exist 1 month warranty that used vehicles must have when sold?

okay it was just the battery that died on me . apparently the battery was around 6 years old .

now i am worried about other shit . to start with i will probably exchange all the fluids in the car
