Hi, I own a Mercedes Benz model E320 CDI from 2004 with 48.000 miles. Engine is the 6 cylinder inline ( not the V6 ) without DPF, Engine code OM648.
I took it to the dealership for oil change and they put LL22951 C3 0w30 Engine Oil .
But in the owner manual that i have from the factory that came with the car it says 229.5 and it start from 0w30 to a higher viscosity but considering I live in UK and we never have below 5 Celsius I think they should have out 229.5 with weight 5w40 .
What to do now ? Should i drop it and go buy oil tomorrow ? Call them and complain .... I doubt they will even admit to it being a fault dealerships are rarely known to be truthful .
Thanks

If you do only 2000 miles a year, the oil itself should not do any harm.

You can try. For your peace of mind, change oil on your own next time.
we never have below 5 Celsius
engines run at the same temperature no matter what part of the world you live. 0w oil is actually better for startup , no matter the temperature.
