2014 Toyota FJCruiser, 128000 miles. No problems since the date of purchase, not a hiccup, rattle or a burp but I thought what could fresh transmission fluid hurt? Toyota dealership did a simple flush and or change and she started slipping on the way home!! Several trips back to the Toyota dealer and the problem would not show itself. Finally they just redid the flush from start to finish eliminating whatever air bubble or fluid level problem the flush caused and back to perfect. Two flushes to get a good one! Don’t do it or you could screw it and end up in Scotty’s potty! You warned us!

Flushing a transmission is something most of us here say to avoid, better to drain and fill or do a fluid exchange using the transmission's own pump. We also advise people to stay away from dealers and chain shops. You are fortunate to have ended up with a good result.
The FAQ has detailed information on changing transmission fluid, including when it is safe to do so and when it should be avoided.
