Diesel accidentally put in gas automobile

Hey Scotty up here in Ottawa Canada a gas station accidentally put diesel into their gas tanks many cars were filled!! Is a car permanently destroyed once diesel runs through it’s system?

It depends how long it was left in the system. Diesel tends to corrode fuel lines meant for gasoline. The entire fuel system needs to be thoroughly flushed so all the diesel is removed. The fuel tank needs to be completely drained as well. The engine may also need to be looked at if it was flooded with diesel (diesel doesn't really combust in a normal gas engine). 

Man, I would definitely be furious if I had diesel pumped into my car!
