Diesel vs gasoline engine

Hi Scotty, is true that a Diesel engines last longer than gasoline engines? If thats the case why is that so? Thanks

Well 1.the Diesels are made tougher, higher compression 2.they use bit thicker oil that last a little longer then gasoline oils and they have some different addons. 3. Diesel fuel is a more of a lubricant than gasolnie. 4. They go on lower rpms most of the time.


And they use really big air filters. It seems everything about Diesels is heavy duty and over sized to protect parts.

Diesels are much more pricey to fix than gasoline.


More pricey ;D which means cost of repairing a disel is a cost of a new car ;D


i'd say so lol. I drive Semi trucks in the oil field and I do know that our cummins engines are very tough. We go through 2 or 3 transmissions before an engine needs rebuilding but thats about all I know.


You know you can get an LPG installation for diesel ?? ^_^

If you even had thoughts on gas or diesel, get the gas unless you tow very often (as well as tow very heavy loads).  Cost of repairs and complexity not worth it.  Also see this video:
