Hi guys!

I wanted to start of and say thank you for the advice that y’all will end up giving.

I inherited a 09 Sienna AWD with 175K miles. I know for sure the transmission and differential fluid havnt been changed. I will definitely not touch the transmission fluid but should I change out the differential fluid?

Of course. Why wouldn't you?

Awesome just wanted to make sure that it won’t ruin anything as it has been using the old fluid for a while now. I know if I changed the transmission fluid it would probably slip and ruin it.

I've never heard anybody say changing differential fluid ruins anything.
.
You can't ruin a transmission by changing the fluid. If it starts slipping then it was already ruined.
If a transmission isn't completely failed, then NOT changing the fluid will ruin it for sure. See our FAQ for details.
.
Remember, maintenance is a good thing.

Yes, go ahead. On most vehicles it’s a reasonable DIY service, and shouldn’t be too expensive if you decide to have an independent shop do it.  Hopefully that van has another 100k in ‘er, but you’ll definitely need to keep up maintenance to get there.
