It's impossible to find a new differential #23156303 for my 2014 Cadillac ATS. They have one on "backorder", but it's been years. Any supplier won't even process the transaction. And GM only made this diff 2013-2014. Impossible to find. That being said. Is it possible to switch out the rear axles to match a different differential entirely? If the mounts work for a different part # differential, yet the axels don't, can I change the axles to match the diff? And how do I find the specs to do it
in fact it's much easier to swap a whole axle than just a differential.
You need to match the gear ratio (which you can find out using the RPO codes). Then head to your nearest pick-and-pull and check all the Cadillacs.

Try a junkyard. I use car-part.com to do a nationwide (and even international if you want) search of participating junkyards.
